YourStory Media Pvt. Ltd, the Bengaluru-based digital media company which runs YourStory.com, has raised US$6 million (about Rs 20 crore) in a fresh round of funding, according to a blog post published today on its website.
The round, completed this month, was led by UC-RNT, Kalaari Capital, 3one4 Capital, and Qualcomm Ventures.
Founded by Shradha Sharma, YourStory had raised about US$5 million from investors including Kalaari and Ratan Tata in In August 2015. The company has expanded its operation in Germany this year and also launched in other native Indian languages including Bengali.
This is an important event given that media industry globally is passing a challenging time and shows that investors are willing to bet on niche-digital media platforms in this part of the world.
